Liberty Carbon and Carbon Central offer a variety of virgin carbon types, and
can provide various kinds of bituminous, wood and coconut based carbons.
The most commonly provided varieties include:
Granular-8X30 and 12X40 mesh carbon is produced from selected grades
of bituminous coal, and is designed for liquid phase applications. This
carbon is mostly used for potable water treatment and removal of
chlorinated compounds. This carbon is NSF61 and food grade quality.
Other Granular- Other granular (8X16, 20X50, etc.) carbons are produced
from select grades of bituminous coal and are designed for liquid phase
applications. They withstand backwashing without degradation or reduction
of particle size. These carbons are NSF61 and food grade quality.
Powdered- Powdered carbon is produced from selected grades of
bituminous coal, wood and wood blends, and is characterized by a high
surface area. It is used to remove taste, odor and organic contaminants.
This carbon is NSF61 and food grade quality.
Reactivated Carbon- We can also provide 8X30 mesh granular reactivated
Liberty Carbon and Carbon Central meet all the appropriate carbon quality
measuring standards of iodine number, apparent density, hardness, sieve
size, surface area, etc. We also meet the NSF, ANSI, and AWWA criteria
required to conduct our business.
Additionally, we have conducted the process research necessary to ensure
the product we provide is the toughest and most durable available. We
evaluated dozens of domestic and imported activated carbons in
accelerated adsorption and reactivation tests, and are pleased to offer you
this high quality agglomerated, imported carbon.
Lastly, users should evaluate the total cost of carbon ownership. Since
Liberty Carbon and Carbon Central are co-operators, there is never a cost
for removal and disposal of your spent carbon.
